Pink Paws For the Cause - Bay Area Cat Rescue
Pink Paws for the Cause is a volunteer-run cat rescue in the Bay Area dedicated to helping feral and abandoned kittens and cats through TNR, fostering, and adoption. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the San Francisco and East Bay Area. Furthermore, every dollar donated goes directly toward the cats who need it most.
Bay Area Cat Rescue — One Cat at a Time
We are small in size but big in heart. At Pink Paws for the Cause, we believe every cat deserves a chance at a safe and loving life — whether that means finding a forever home, receiving veterinary care, or being part of a well-managed feral colony.
Additionally, we are dedicated to helping feral and abandoned kittens and cats across the Bay Area. We believe in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) as the most humane and effective way to manage feral cat populations. Furthermore, we support several cat colonies in the San Francisco and East Bay Area by feeding, providing medical help, and rehoming when possible.
Over the past three years, our volunteer team has grown into a passionate community of cat lovers united by one simple mission — to help as many cats as possible. Therefore, no matter how you choose to get involved, your support makes a life-saving difference.
What We Do
At Pink Paws for the Cause, our work spans across the entire Bay Area. Our dedicated volunteers show up every day to care for cats in need through four key programs:
Adoptions We carefully match cats and kittens with loving forever families across the Bay Area. Our personalized adoption process ensures every cat goes to the right home. Additionally, our fosters have a say in who adopts their foster cats — because nobody knows them better. Browse our available cats on our Adoptable Kitties page and start your adoption journey today.
TNR — Trap, Neuter, Return TNR is the cornerstone of our feral cat work. Every month our volunteer trappers humanely trap, sterilize, and vaccinate feral cats across San Francisco and the East Bay. Furthermore, by stabilizing colony populations we reduce suffering and prevent thousands of unwanted kittens from being born. Currently we sterilize and vaccinate 44 cats every single month.
Colony Management We actively manage and monitor feral cat colonies throughout the Bay Area. Our colony feeders visit regularly to provide food, water, and basic health checks. Additionally, we cover the cost of food, veterinary care, and supplies for cats whose colonies have no other support. Together, we feed over 355 cats every month.
Foster Program Our foster program is the heart of Pink Paws for the Cause. Foster families open their homes to kittens, adult cats, special needs cats, and unsocialized cats who need a safe and loving environment while they wait for their forever family. Furthermore, we provide all supplies, veterinary care, training, and 24/7 support to every foster family at no cost to them.

Why We Need Your Support
As a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Pink Paws for the Cause has no paid staff and no corporate funding. Therefore, every adoption fee, every donation, and every foster family directly determines how many cats we can help.

Foster — Open your home to a cat in need. We provide everything you need and you get a say in who adopts your foster cat. Apply to foster today.
Volunteer — Join our team of trappers, colony feeders, transport volunteers, and event helpers. No experience necessary for most roles.
